Performance

Shark VACMOP (VM200) is a simple yet effective wet/dry vacuum mop for hard floors, driven by a 7.8 amps motor. Despite being a lightweight vacuum mop, it renders a spectacular performance, wiping out both dry and wet messes like a pro. The storage cavity in the disposable pad stores the solid mess whereas the pad soaks up the liquid.

In terms of performance, Shark VACMOP Pro (VM252) is at par with the VACMOP. Both have the same Li-ion battery (7.8 amps and 55W power), the same vacuuming and mopping mechanism, and the same disposable pads. The presence of LED headlamps in the VACMOP Pro is the only major advantage as well as the difference.

There’s one drawback in both VACMOP and VACMOP Pro, though. The disposable pads have limited capacity, both for dry and wet spills. Hence, for large spills, you’ll need a full-sized wet/dry vacuum mop.

My Verdict: Performance-wise, it’s a tie between the two.

Ease of Use

Shark VACMOPs are a synonym for convenience. Using wet/dry vacuum mops has never been easier. You can clean wet and dry messes efficiently with Shark VACMOPs in a few minutes without getting your hands dirty.

First of all, cordless functioning is a big positive. Charge the appliance for around 3.5 hours to get approximately 13 minutes of run-time, sufficient for a medium-sized space. Shark VACMOP has a plug-in charger and VACMOP Pro has a magnetic charger.

Second, to use the vacuum mode, you’ll have to pull the trigger present underneath the handle. While mopping the floor, you’ll have to press the spray button present on the top of the handle to dispense the solution (0.35L cleaning solution capacity in the unit). The LED headlamps in Shark VACMOP Pro illuminate dark areas, helping you check the dirt levels.

Third, the lightweight body and swiveling head make it easier to maneuver VACMOP in any direction, whether it’s under the table, on the nooks and corners, or the open floor.

My Verdict: Shark VACMOP Pro wins for its LED headlamps and magnetic charging.

Ease of Maintenance

Shark VACMOPs have been meticulously designed to render maximum ease and minimum maintenance. You don’t have to deal with dirty water tanks, cleaning brush roll, wiping nozzle, and other mundane activities. Hence, you save time and you also don’t dirty your hands at all.

The one-click disposable pad mechanism allows you to dispose of used pads just by pressing the button. After vacuuming and mopping the floor, if you find the storage cavity full of solid mess and pads stained with filth, know it’s time to replace the pad. To insert a new one, simply keep the pad on the floor and place the machine on the pad until you hear a click.

Take note that you need to charge the Li-ion battery for around 3.5 hours if you want it to vacuum for approximately 13 minutes (spray and mop don’t require charge). Shark VACMOP uses plug-in charging whereas VACMOP Pro uses magnetic charging. Practically, doesn’t make much of a difference.

Shark offers a 1-year warranty on both appliances. Don’t try to replace the battery yourself. It’s better to take your Shark VACMOP to the experts.

My Verdict: Both fare equally well here.

Portability

Both Shark VACMOPs are as light as the feather, weighing just 3.34 lbs when empty. If you fill the 0.35L tank with a cleaning solution, the weight will increase a little. But still, it’ll be easily portable for everyone, including the elderly and the specially abled.

You can carry it anywhere – upstairs, downstairs, across the floor, to your shop, office, and in your car. Shark VACMOPs are compact enough to occupy minimum storage space, even when they lack detachable components and collapsible handles.

My Verdict: It’s a tie, again.

Versatility

Both Shark VACMOP and VACMOP Pro are wet/dry vacuum mops capable of cleaning hard floors of all types including laminate, linoleum, vinyl, hardwood, engineered wood, marble, stone, concrete, and tile. However, these are not designed for carpets and rugs. If you are looking for a multi-surface wet/dry vacuum mop, BISSELL CrossWave should be your choice.

VACMOPs are not suitable for cleaning large messes in one go due to limited storage and suction. You’ll have to use two or more disposable pads if there’s too much filth on the floor. However, in most cases, you’ll not require more than a pad to clean floors if you vacuum and mop regularly.

My Verdict: Here also, it’s a tie.

Customer Reviews

Customers love both the Shark VACMOP and VACMOP Pro. The reason is there’s hardly any difference between the two, except for the LED headlamps, color, and the charger type. Both are available at the same price, come with disposable pads (12 with VACMOP and 4 with VACMOP Pro), are suitable for hard floors of all types, and are lightweight and durable.

The ease of use, ease of maintenance, efficient functioning, affordable price tag, and the Shark label are some of the positives highlighted by users.

The drawbacks include limited run-time, long charging time, non-reusable pads (recurring expenditure), and a lack of deep cleaning ability.

My Verdict: Each of the VACMOPs shares a similar opinion. Hence, it’s a tie.
