Performance

BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One is an entry-level wet/dry vacuum mop driven by a 4.4 amps (~528 Watts) motor, delivering enough suction to pull messes off hard floors and area rugs (however, not suitable for carpeted floors). The microfiber and nylon brush roll does a commendable job of mopping the floors and picking up debris at the same time. You get two modes here – Hard Floor mode for cleaning hard floors and Area Rug mode for washing area rugs.

Hoover FloorMate Deluxe, on the other hand, is a dedicated hard floor cleaning machine driven by a 3.5 amps (~420 Watts) motor, powerful enough to pull out tough as well fresh stains from hard surfaces and grout. The vacmop is equipped with two modes – Wash mode where the 360° SpinScrub brushes are on the spin continuously and the Dry mode where the brushes don’t spin at all. The CleanSurge Control feature allows you to dispense extra solution than normal for better cleaning.

Hoover PowerDash Pet hard floor cleaner is the younger sibling of the FloorMate Deluxe. PowerDash Pet is designed exclusively for hard floor cleaning, runs on the same 3.5 amps (~420 Watts) motor, and comes with antimicrobial 360° SpinScrub brushes. However, it lacks cleaning modes and CleanSurge Control. Hence, you just need to turn it on, pull the solution trigger, and move around to remove stains from the hard floor. The fast-drying system in this vacmop ensures clean and dry floors in the quickest time.

My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One wins for its powerful motor and multi-floor cleaning capability.

Ease of Use

BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One saves your time and effort because it vacuums and mops your rugs and hard floors in one go. Moreover, you can operate it continuously because it’s a corded appliance featuring a 25-feet cord. But you may find it a little difficult to use because of some reasons. First, you need to clean brush roll quite often if you have pets at home. Secondly, average tank capacities will not last much, especially in the Area Rug mode which uses twice the solution required in the Hard Floor mode.

Hoover FloorMate Deluxe knows its job very well. Deploy it to remove stains from hard floors of all types. Fill the large-capacity water tank (1.42 L, one of the largest in the segment), dial in the Wash mode, press the paddle to recline, and press the trigger to dispense solution while moving the appliance forward. When pulling backward, release the trigger (use the CleanSurge Control button for extra solution) and let the machine suck up all the filth and drop it in the dirty water tank (1.42 L). In the Dry mode, the brush stops rotating and you don’t even need to press the trigger as well. The 20-feet cord is the only minor drawback here.

Hoover PowerDash Pet works on a similar principle as FloorMate Deluxe. The tank capacity is a little less here (0.95 L) and there’s only one Wash & Vacuum mode for all types of washes and floors. Hence, the brush rotates continuously whether you press the trigger or not. The rest of the procedure is the same. There’s no CleanSurge Control here. The cord is 25-feet long, the same in length as the one available in BISSELL CrossWave.

My Verdict: It’s a tie amongst all three.

Ease of Maintenance

Note: Cleaning vacmops is certainly a hassle.  But after every vacuuming and mopping session, it’s important to clean the appliance inside out. If you don’t, the residue may damage components and may also cause a bad odor and harmful bacteria and mold buildup.

Let’s begin with the assembly of BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One. It’s all about inserting the handle into the body and placing the clean water tank in the designated slot. That’s all. Regarding maintenance, you’ll have to empty the dirty water tank when indicated by a high-pitch sound. Pull out the tank, remove the filter and the floater, rinse them and the tank, and place them back after cleaning the inside area where the DWT sits. Then you have to wash the brush roll cover, brush roll, and wipe the chamber. Once done, you’ll have to place the machine on the rinse & clean out storage tray, pour water in the tray, and press the Hard Floor mode to initiate the self-cleaning process. BISSELL offers a 2-year warranty on the appliance, a standard in the segment.

The maintenance procedure is the same for Hoover FloorMate Deluxe and PowerDash Pet as well. All components – including tanks, nozzle, brush roll, and the filter – come out easily in just a click/press. Wash them thoroughly under running water, let them air dry, and place them back. Cleaning 360° SpinScrub brush rolls is relatively easier than cleaning the multi-surface brush roll available with the CrossWave.  There’s no storage tray available here. You get a 2-year warranty on appliances.

My Verdict: Again, it’s a tie amongst all three.

Portability

Carrying the BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One vacuum mop shouldn’t be a problem because it weighs around 11.5 lbs with empty water tanks. However, for some – like elderly and specially-abled – it can be a problem. A sturdy carry handle ensures a firm grip. Use it to comfortably carry the appliance upstairs, downstairs, and around the house, shop, or office.

Hoover FloorMate Deluxe weighs around 13.8 lbs (heaviest amongst the three) and PowerDash Pet weighs around 12 lbs (almost as heavy as the BISSELL). Both of the Hoovers lack carry handles. It means you’ll have to lift them by holding the main handles only.

These appliances are compact but still, you need sufficient space to store them, especially for the CrossWave All-in-One. It’s because, during self-cleaning, you need to tilt it so that the brush roll can rotate (brush roll doesn’t rotate when the handle is in a vertical position. You need to push the foot paddle to incline the machine and start the process).

My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One wins by a slight margin.

Versatility

All three vacuum mops discussed here are suitable for hard floors like laminate, linoleum, vinyl, solid & engineered wood, marble, stone, concrete, tile & grout, and others. BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One goes a step further as it’s suitable for area rugs as well. It’s fine for regular cleaning but not deep cleaning of carpets and rugs. For that, you need powerful and versatile carpet cleaners.

Talking about types of stains these vacmops can tackle; use these for removing pet messes & hair, food & beverages, grease, makeup, dirt, grime, mud, and mold/fungus.

With Hoover FloorMate Deluxe, you get two sets of SpinScrub brushes, one for tile & grout and another for wooden floors. PowerDash Pet comes with an antimicrobial set of SpinScrub brushes. These avoid the build-up of microbes, thereby, keeping the brush roll free of odor and filth.

My Verdict: BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One wins for its versatile performance.

Customer Reviews

Users praise BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One for its versatile and powerful performance, ease of use, and affordable price tag. For tackling everyday messes, except for pet stains, this wet/dry vacuum mop is a blessing for many. Some users complain about how tiring it is to clean the machine after vacmop sessions and the excessive amount of solution it uses in the Area Rug mode. You may witness tangles and clogging in the brush roll and DWT respectively if you use All-in-One for pet messes.

Hoover FloorMate Deluxe wins accolades for its impeccable hard floor cleaning, especially tile and grout. The users praise it for its performance, ease of use and maintenance, and simplicity. Some users highlight breakdown within a few months or years. In that case, avail the warranty. And to keep your Hoover in the best condition, use it as per the guidelines and clean it inside-out regularly.

Hoover PowerDash Pet hard floor vacuum mop wins praises for its minimalist yet powerful cleaning performance. Customers love it for its lightweight design, ease of use and maintenance, and affordable price tag. For best results, it’s recommended to clean components thoroughly and use a vacuum cleaner before deploying the vacuum mop (applies to all vacuum mops).

My Verdict: Although it’s a tie here, BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One may appear to lead for readers who prefer a multi-purpose vacuum mop. If just hard floor cleaning is the talk here, Hoover FloorMate Deluxe and PowerDash Pet win the battle.
