Performance

Tineco iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2 are powerful appliances that feature two modes – Normal wash mode and Spot mode. The Normal mode is suitable for everyday vacuuming and mopping hard floors. Whereas the Spot mode is ideal for removing stubborn stains and uses more solution. The 8.6W motor driven by a 2,500 mAh battery is sufficient to keep surfaces free of mess. The deodorizing & cleaning solution available with all four Tineco vacmops works like magic on all types of floors and stains.

Tineco iFLOOR 3 is more powerful than the iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2. It also features two modes – ECO mode for normal washing and MAX mode for deep cleaning. A 3,000 mAh battery drives a 30W motor. Despite being high in power, the noise produced by the machine is capped at 78 decibels. Hence, it’s not as loud as other vacuum mops in its category. The presence of a HEPA filter ensures the discharge of clean air out of the appliance.

Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 is at par with iFLOOR 3 in terms of power output. A 4,000 mAh battery powers a 30W motor for a long duration. There are two cleaning modes – the AUTO mode and the MAX mode. In the AUTO mode, the iLoop Sensor detects the amount of filth and automatically adjusts the suction power and required solution. In the MAX mode, the machine functions at maximum power capacity. FLOOR ONE S3 is also a low-noise (78 decibels) producing appliance.

My Verdict: Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 wins here for its smart operations. For best results, you should use warm water under 140°F/60°C with all four Tineco wet/dry vacuums. Moreover, using only Tineco deodorizing & cleaning solution is highly recommended.

Ease of Use

The concept of a wet/dry vacuum with a washing system came into existence to render the sheer convenience of cleaning in one go, vacuuming and mopping at the same time.

Tineco iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2 simply excel at vacuuming as well as washing hard floors. You have to fill the solution tank, switch on the machine, recline it to not more than 144°, and just move forward and backward to clean the floor.  The swiveling head (common in all four Tineco vacmops) makes it convenient to move around narrow spaces. Switching between cleaning modes is just about pressing buttons. Running time (around 22 minutes) and tank capacities (CWT – 0.55L, DWT – 0.4L) are average and not the best. The self-cleaning dock tray available here also works as a charging station.

Tineco iFLOOR 3 is easier to operate than the iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2. One major advantage is the presence of the LED display that communicates important information related to cleaning modes, battery charge, full DWT, empty CWT, roller blockage, etc. iFLOOR 3 also features a 3-in-1 docking station that supports charging, self-cleaning, and docking. The running time is around 18 minutes in the MAX mode and around 25 minutes in the ECO mode. Tank capacities are also a bit higher.

Again in ease of use, Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 is way ahead of the iFLOOR variants. In addition to features and convenience provided in the iFLOOR 3, you get smart functioning in FLOOR ONE S3. For example, the LED display shows a blue-red loop that signifies dirty when redder and clean when bluer. The automatic adjustment of power and solution due to the iLoop Sensor is also unique to the FLOOR ONE S3. Further, app integration and voice support make it easier to manage cleaning operations. Lastly, the running time of 35 minutes in the AUTO mode is a big plus.

My Verdict: Tineco FLOOR ONE S3 wins with a clear margin.

Ease of Maintenance

After every vacuuming and mopping session, it’s important to clean the appliance inside out. If you don’t, the residue may damage components and may also cause bad odor and harmful bacteria and mold buildup.

To clean Tineco iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2, you’ll have to empty and rinse DWT, clean and rinse the filter and the floater. Further, remove and wash the brush roller cover and the brush roller. You can use the 3-in-1 cleaning tool that has bristles and a blade to clean the DWT, brush roller cover, brush roller, and chamber. Lastly, place the iFLOORs on the Self-Cleaning Storage Tray and press the Self-Clean mode. The self-cleaning process will take around 40 seconds to complete. That’s all about the maintenance. Tineco provides a 2-year warranty on the appliances, which is standard in the category.

Tineco iFLOOR 3’s maintenance procedure is similar to iFLOORs’. However, it’s a little more convenient here. The LED display shows if you need to empty DWT or fill CWT or clean the brush roller. Further, when you activate the Self-Clean mode while the appliance is resting on the 3-in-1 Docking Station, the display shows the iFLOOR 3 is in the self-cleaning mode. Since this machine uses a HEPA filter, you have to wash it after every use to ensure there’s no blockage. Put it back only when it’s completely dry. For your convenience, Tineco provides a spare filter. Here also, you get a 2-year warranty on the appliance.

With Tineco FLOOR ONE S3, the maintenance procedure goes a notch above. While everything is almost the same as you get in iFLOOR 3, here you also get voice assistance on your phone. The app voices commands and instructions whenever the appliance needs maintenance. Here also you get a 3-in-1 cleaning tool and the 3-in-1 Docking Station. You also get a spare brush roller with FLOOR ONE S3. Lastly, the Smart Self-Clean mode ensures your machine is always neat and clean. The 2-year warranty applies here as well.

My Verdict: It’s almost a tie between iFLOOR 3 and FLOOR ONE S3.

Portability

Tineco iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2 are two of the lightest vacuum mops available in the market right now. The former weighs just 6.5 lbs whereas the latter weighs 8.15 lbs. It’s a piece of cake to move iFLOORs around in the house, shop, or office, take them upstairs or downstairs to the basement, or carry them in your car. The handle at the top provides a firm grip. It would have been better if there was a collapsible handle. However, that’s not the case.

Tineco iFLOOR 3 is a little heavier (9.9 lbs) than the iFLOORs, but still easily portable. The added weight is mainly due to larger tanks and a high-capacity battery. The handle is easily detachable, unlike in iFLOORs where you have to unscrew the screw. Here, you simply need to insert the screwdriver from the back to press the spring and pull the handle out.

When it comes to portability, there’s no difference between iFLOOR 3 and FLOOR ONE S3. Almost everything is the same – the dimension, weight, handle mechanism, etc. There are only two main additions – a larger capacity battery and smart technology.

My Verdict: Tineco iFLOOR wins here for its lightweight and compact design.

Versatility

Dry/wet vacuum and mops are designed for hard floors like laminate, linoleum, vinyl, solid & engineered wood, marble, stone, concrete, tile & grout, and others. The same is true for these Tineco vacuum mops. These appliances work fine on hard floors, leaving them clean, disinfected, shiny, and dry.

Some argue that you can use wet/dry vacmops on rugs and carpets. However, this is not the case, especially with these Tineco’s. These are not designed for rough floors like carpets and rugs. Even Tineco says the same. It might clean the surface but you won’t be satisfied because there’ll be leftovers and lots of soaked solution in the carpets. For cleaning carpets and rugs, you can consider carpet cleaners designed for carpets and rugs.

Talking about the types of stains, you can use Tineco iFLOORs and ONE FLOOR S3 for all new and old stains like pet messes & hair, food and beverages, grease, makeup, dirt, grime, mud, and mold/fungus.

My Verdict: It’s a tie. Everybody wins here.

Customer Reviews

Tineco iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2 are certainly the favorites of many users. They love these for their affordable price tags, compact and lightweight designs, efficient functioning, and ease of use. Some of the users complain of the not-so-efficient self-cleaning mechanism and that they leave a 2-inch gap on the sides of the floor while cleaning. However, these two drawbacks are common for all four Tinecos reviewed here.

Users love Tineco iFLOOR 3 for its powerful suction, long running time, large-capacity tanks, and LED display. Some users praised Tineco’s stellar customer support. This is a big positive. The only thing you need to do after a thorough cleaning session is spending a few minutes on post-cleanup so that your Tineco is in perfect condition every time you take it out.

Talking about Tineco FLOOR ONE S3, the praise it gets is equivalent to what iFLOOR 3 gets. For those who seek convenience, this one is the best buy. Low-noise operation is one of the most talked-about features. Packed with smart features, it’ll make cleaning efficient and fun. Yes, FLOOR ONE S3 is expensive but it’s worth spending money on an all-rounder like this.

My Verdict: It’s a tie. All three fair well as per customer reviews. In the end, you have to decide according to your budget.

  1. Nathaniel Pope

What do you think the most durable vacuum mop is. We originally had the corded crosswave. Wore that right out. Since we’ve gone through 2 cordless max’s and one Tineco ifloor3. All replaced under warranty. We use it everyday and have multiple pets. I believe the dander and the hair is clogging the tubes inside the machine. We’d have to clean the head of the ifloor 3 halfway through our cleaning session. The heads of these cordless versions seem too low profile to handle heavy workloads.

    1. Hey, Nathaniel.

Considering you’ve pets, you can go ahead with the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro (perfect for pet messes, it’s corded, and works on hard floors and rugs) or Hoover FloorMate Deluxe (only for hard floors) or Shark VACMOP Pro (cordless, minimal maintenance, only for hard floors).

Now, whichever appliance you buy, make sure you follow three steps at all times:

      1. Vacuum before you use a vacuum mop. Nothing can replace simple vacuuming to remove pet hair, not even a vacmop.
      2. Clean brush roll and empty already full dirty water tank if there’s low suction/machine makes whirring sound.
      3. Clean every component of the vacuum mop after the cleanup – nozzle, brush roll, suction head, dirty water tank, filter, floating head, and others if any.

That’s all you need to do. Anything else you’d like to know?

  2. I just purchased both the IFloor and the IFloor 2 because I wasn’t sure which one I wanted. I plan on keeping one and returning the other. On the outer box the Ifloor 2 reads that it is “4X the cleaning performance of the original IFloor.” According to your review they are closely the same. Do you know in what area the Ifloor 2 would be more powerful than the original IFloor?

    1. Hi Sue! Apology for the late response.

Yes, it’s true that iFLOOR and iFLOOR 2 have the same technical specs and a similar design.

One significant difference that may make iFLOOR 2 4X more efficient than the iFLOOR is the power bush.

The iFLOOR 2 features the same power brush as available in the iFLOOR 3 and FLOOR One S3.

Hence, the company claims it’s 4X more efficient than the iFLOOR.

We hope your doubt is clear now.

Anything else you’d like to know?
